Poetic Analysis of Ps 2:12

10 So, kings be wise,
be corrected rulers of the earth!

11 Serve Adonai with fear,
    and rejoice while trembling.

12 Kiss the son, lest he be angry,
and you perish in the way,
    for his anger burns quickly.
Blessed are all who shelter in him!

Though this last verse is difficult to translate with confidence, it is clearly antithetic in tone, it begins exhorting the kings to act wisely by accepting God's rule (and in the light of the rest of the psalm the rule of his king). The next two lines warn of the consequences of rebellion, and the last proclaims the blessing of those who appeal to God.
