חנן chnn "be gracious, favor" (commonly used in names, especially theophoric names e.g. Hananeel "God has favored" is a tower; 5 people are named Hanani; 14 Hananiah "Yah has favoured"). This verb is only common in poetry (especially Psalms) only Isaiah and Amos (a unique use 5:15) use it among the prophets.
