pl. אֲנָשִׁים
'ish "person, man, husband" most often as equivalent of 'ishah "woman,
wife", however sometimes as a generic for "person, human". In Amos
at 2:7 where it is certainly
a man, at 5:19 where this may
well be so, and in the plural at 6:9
where it is likely to mean "people".
