Tell El-Amarna (Egypt) is the site on which Pharaoh Akenaton built his capital. In 1847 a collection of some 300 cuneiform tablets were unearthed there containing letters written to the pharaoh by the "kings" of Canaan.
These letters, like the one from Rib Addi king of Byblos give us useful information about Canaan in the late Bronze Age (around the time of the exodus).
